Skills Camp
Why Have a Skills Camp?
During the regular hockey season with limited practice time, most youth teams put an emphasis on team play and design the practices to focus on team concepts to prepare for game situations. This makes it very difficult to develop individual skillsets for each player. The Skills Camp has been developed so that players can improve their individual skills sets which will allow them to be a more effective player when put back into a team setting.
Development Plan for Hockey Skills
This camp will focus on breaking down the fundamentals of skating, puck handling, passing, shooting, & gameplay. This camp has 3 phases. Phase 1 is mostly stationary work on simple skills. Phase 2 adds skating and movement on top of the simple skills learned in phase 1. Finally, Phase 3 takes the skill sets and puts them into game type scenarios so that the players learn how to play quickly and effectively.
